Andiamo Accelerated Internet

If you haven't already, set up your dialup connection using the appropriate setup guide.

  • Start by downloading the Andiamo Accelerated Internet software from here. On a 56k connection this will take approximately ten minutes.
  • When you are asked if you want to "Run this program from its current location" or "Save this program to disk", select save to disk and click OK.
  • When the "Save As" dialog opens, select "Desktop" in the "Save In" drop-down box and click SAVE.
  • After the file downloads, close your web browser and disconnect from the Internet.
  • Locate the setup icon on your desktop ("setup.5184.5.0.0.1054") and double-click it.
  • When prompted, make sure all your browser windows are closed, and click OK.
  • The setup wizard will open. Click NEXT.
  • Read the terms of service, and click ACCEPT to continue.
  • Leave the Installation directory & Startup folder on the defaults, and click NEXT.
  • When prompted, click "Start Using Andiamo Telecom Hi-Speed Dial Up".
  • If your computer is set to connect to the Internet automatically, you will be connected to the Internet. If not, you will need to manually connect to the Internet by clicking your dial-up icon. When you connect for the first time, you may get a screen in your browser that the proper installation and configuration cannot be confirmed. This is because you must log in to Andiamo Hi-Speed and is not necessarily an indication that there is a problem.
  • A login box will appear in the lower right corner of your screen. Enter your dialup username and password and click OK.
  • You may now start browsing the web as usual. The two arrows in the new icon in your system tray will flash when your Internet acceleration is active.
Windows 98 users must be running Internet Explorer 5 or higher. You can get the latest version of Internet Explorer from Microsoft's Web Site If you get an error that "SHFOLDER.DLL cannot be found" you need to upgrade your browser.
